SAWIYANO: Daily Life Amidst Cultural Change by Betni Kalk | Make Your Own Book

SAWIYANO: Drawings, Volume 1 - not yet available

While on location doing the filming, art supplies of paper, pens, watercolors and colored pencils were provided to the village of Wabualu. Both the residents of the village and visitors ere welcome to draw. While they were welcome to keep the drawings, many were given to Bethany Kalk. It took some coaxing to get the women to draw, but they were soon adding to the pile of stack of drawings. Frequent themes include animals that are hunted, homes, fishing, food from gardens and traditional motifs.
